🤰 Pregnancy Thompson Test Modification

  1. Instead of prone, patient kneels on chair/plinth with feet hanging off edge.
  2. Examiner squeezes gastrocnemius/soleus belly.
  3. Positive: no plantarflexion = Achilles rupture.
  4. Alternative: seated with knee flexed over plinth edge.

  • Sever's disease — calcaneal squeeze test
  • Os trigonum — posterior ankle pain with forced plantarflexion
